Chronic Absences

Silver Oak Elementary, a school known for its academic strength, is tackling a challenge that might surprise some – chronic absenteeism. Silver Oak CAASPP Testing Schedule

From April 29-May 17, Silver Oak students in grades 3-6 will be taking California state tests for language arts, reading, and math. In addition, 5th graders will take the CAST science test and fitness test, and 6th graders will take a math placement test for middle school. Click story headline for detailed testing schedule. Please plan any appointments during testing days after the school day ends so your child is able to take their tests as scheduled.

Help Our School Meet its Goal to Raise $1,000

Each year, through the Box Tops for Education program, Silver Oak receives money for our school. By participating in this program, you can earn money for Silver Oak while doing your every day shopping. We are grateful to all our Silver Oak parents who continue to support our efforts through various programs to earn money for our school. Attendance Matters

Attendance Matters

How many absences are too many? Chronic absence is defined as 18 days a year—or just 2 days a month. Call your student's school office if you have questions about your student's attendance.

First Thursday of each month at 10 a.m.

Silver Oak parents of all grade levels are invited to participate in the Parent Cafe held the first Thursday of each month at 10 a.m. The principal meets with parents to discuss educational issues of the day and factors impacting student achievement.
