We know the drop-off and pick-up line can feel hectic and is sometimes frustrating. Some observations we’ve made lately, like cutting in line at the bus loop, double parking, or making U-turns in the middle of Farnsworth during drop off and pick-up line are big safety concerns for our Silver Oak students. Let's face it, we all have places to be, appointments to keep. But a little courtesy can go a long way in making this daily routine smoother for everyone. Let's work together to make drop-off and pick-up a little less stressful for everyone. Please take a minute to read these tips to keep things running safely and efficiently:
6th grade students planning on attending Chaboya Middle School for the 2024-2025 must submit their Electives Enrollment Request through PowerSchool by Friday, March 28 at 4 p.m. Enrollment begins Tuesday, March 12.
4th grade students Medha and Rhea interview 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Veronica Gardener, in their 7th spotlight profile this year.
Missed classroom instruction impacts student learning. Please plan in advance to take your family vacations when school is also on vacation. Our district tracks absences that are both excused (sick) and unexcused (personal trips) and emphasizes the impact of learning loss for students who are chronically absent (10% or more of the school year). See our district Calendar page to view updated 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26 academic calendars.
March 4 is the start of our third trimester of the school year. Now through the end of year, the focus Habit of the Mind we will be working on is Applying Past Knowledge to New Situations. Students' exhibiting effort in this focus area will be recognized during our Student of the Month ceremony.
Parents, please be aware that Discord users are to be 13 years old, which does not include Silver Oak age students. With so many issues arising with Discord and some students using it disrespectfully, here is a link with Discord information: Parent’s Ultimate Guide to Discord
Moving from 6th grade to middle school is an exciting time for students, but it can also be overwhelming and students are sometimes anxious about what to expect. As parents, we often wonder how we can best prepare our children to make the transition from elementary to middle school and how to support them during their first year in a new environment. The link in the headline will take you to information about what life is like at middle school in Evergreen School District to help you get your child ready for this change.
Students will have spring pictures taken on Tuesday, March 19. Order with your student's School ID or this Picture Day ID: EVT93DGM3 at mylifetouch.com.
Order your yearbook now so your child won't miss out on their cherished school memories from this year. Silver Oak yearbooks are available to order through April 29 for $45. Order online through this link using our school ID number 13907824.
