Mrs. Hokanson is excited to tell everyone about some interesting new books that have arrived in our library. One is a series that takes place in the San Francisco Bay area. She says students are really enjoying these books because they recognize the locations they are reading about. Another is a series of girl empowerment books. She is looking forward to sharing all these and more, so stop by the library anytime!

100 day of school

This week was a big mile marker for your child! 2nd grade students celebrated the 100th in-person full days of school. And, let's all give a big round of applause to our 5th graders who celebrated completing their 1,000th day of school! Project Cornerstone February Book

Project Cornerstone’s Asset Building Champions (ABC) program, parent volunteers read specially selected stories and lead classroom activities and discussions about building appropriate social skills.The lessons focus on values like honesty, responsibility, and peaceful conflict resolution. February Book is LONG SHOT-Never Too small To DREAM BIG by Chris Paul.Theme: Positive Identity & Self-Management (ability to harness one’s emotions, thoughts, and behaviors effectively to achieve goals).

National School Counseling Week 2023 is celebrated from Feb. 6-10 to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems.  School counselors collaborate with school staff, parents and the community to create a safe, respectful learning environment where young adolescents can maximize personal and academic achievement.
