Our School
Silver Oak Elementary is more than a school—it’s a place where children thrive. Located in the heart of San Jose’s Evergreen Valley, we offer a safe, nurturing, and academically exceptional environment for TK–6th grade students.
Our dedicated teachers, involved families, and strong community partnerships work together to support every child’s success. We celebrate our diverse student body and promote kindness, respect, and a strong sense of belonging. Students are encouraged to grow not just academically, but emotionally and socially, so they leave Silver Oak confident, capable, and ready for what’s next.
Excellence is a tradition at Silver Oak. As a six-time California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School, we are honored by the recognition of our academic achievement. That success is made possible by the collective efforts of passionate educators, supportive parent groups, generous volunteers, and partnerships with local businesses, community organizations, and universities. Together, we create an environment where students truly thrive.
We believe in educating the whole child—and we do it with heart. To learn more, you can explore our school and PTO websites and visit our social media pages on Instagram and Facebook. See what makes Silver Oak a truly special place to learn and grow.

Mission Statement
At Silver Oak Elementary, our mission is to empower each student to reach their full potential—intellectually, emotionally, and physically—so they can lead fulfilling lives as compassionate individuals, critical thinkers, and engaged citizens.
We nurture creativity, adaptability, and a love of learning by teaching students how to access, analyze, and apply information in a rapidly changing world. Our students learn to communicate effectively, make thoughtful decisions, and collaborate with others in a respectful and inclusive community.
Through innovative teaching, purposeful use of technology, and strong teacher-student partnerships, students take ownership of their learning and develop the confidence to explore new ideas and challenges.
Our goal is to prepare students to thrive in the 21st century—ready to shape their futures and contribute meaningfully to the world around them.
