Chaboya Middle School is excited to welcome Silver Oak 6th graders for a tour and orientation on Monday, April 3. All 6th grade students will take a bus from Silver Oak to Chaboya to learn more about what to expect in middle school. Read more details about this visit in story.
Make a difference in our community! Join us for the Sacred Heart Clothing Drive, benefiting those in need in our local area. From Friday, March 24 to Friday, March 31, drop off your new or gently used clothing donations in the A-wing or multipurpose room at Silver Oak during school hours. Your donations will help make a positive impact on the lives of those in need. Let's work together to give back and make a difference. Thank you for your support.

Written, produced, and published by Silver Oak 5th grade students, this newest edition is jammed packed with lots of great stories.
Stop by our 2nd grade plant sale next week and select from a wide variety of plants for your spring garden. See times and the location at school plants will be on sale for $3 each Thursday, March 23 and Friday, March 24 in story. All proceeds go to Silver Oak's garden.
From May 8 - 19, Silver Oak students in grades 3-6 will be taking California state tests for language arts, reading, and math. 5th graders will also take the CAST science test and fitness test, and 6th graders will take a math placement test for middle school. Click story headline for detailed testing schedule. Please plan any appointments during testing days after the school day ends so your child is able to take their tests as scheduled.

Get ready for a sweet treat! Join us at Carolyn Clark Elementary School on Friday, April 7 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for the Evergreen School District's Spring Ice Cream event. Within Evergreen School District we offer students the choice to attend one of our project based learning (PBL) programs for 7-8 grades. If you are interested in having your child apply for these programs, applications for the 2023-2024 school year are now being accepted for Lobo School of Innovation (LSI) at Quimby Oak and Bulldog Tech at LeyVa. The USDA is proposing updates to school meals and asking for parent feedback to help develop the final standards that will best support kids’ health, learning, and growth. Find link in story to submit your comments by April 10.
If your child is currently a 6th grader, now is the time to check your child’s immunization records. If they are not up to date with all the required immunizations or do not have their 7th-grade advancement immunizations, please start the process and submit your child’s immunization record to your school site front office. Each year, through the Box Tops for Education program, Silver Oak receives money for our school. By participating in this program, you can earn money for Silver Oak while doing your every day shopping. We are grateful to all our Silver Oak parents who continue to support our efforts through various programs to earn money for our school. Together, we can reach this year's Box Top goal of $1,000. Attendance Matters
How many absences are too many? Chronic absence is defined as 18 days a year—or just 2 days a month. Call your student's school office if you have questions about your student's attendance.
Parent Cafe
First Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m.
Silver Oak parents of all grade levels are invited to participate in the Parent Cafe held the first Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. Mr. Greenfield meets with parents to discuss educational issues of the day and factors impacting student achievement.
